ITC Regulations

The ITC ceased to exist on 18 December 2003 and its duties were assumed by Ofcom, the Office of Communications. Ofcom is the new communications sector regulator and has wide-ranging responsibilities. It has inherited the duties of the five regulators it replaced: the Broadcasting Standards Commission (BSC), the Independent Television Commission (ITC), Oftel, the Radio Authority and the Radiocommunications Agency.

Ofcom plans to produce its own broadcasting codes in 2004.  Until these are in place, ITV broadcasters will continue to comply with the rules set out in the ITC Code Books.

The ITC Code of Programme Sponsorship (Autumn 2000) may be found on the Ofcom website at : www.ofcom.org.uk

Issues 1 - 9 of the Sponsorship guidelines may also be found on the Advertising & Sponsorship page.  Issue 10 is not currently included.
